CUPW has written the Minister Responsible for Canada Post to make sure he knows that volumes at the corporation increased in 2004, even letter volumes. The minister told the House of Commons "physical mail is becoming a thing of the past." He said, "even grandmothers send birthday wishes electronically." Maybe so, but they send presents by mail.
